What does submitting my site to search engines do?

When you submit your website to a search engine, it reads your site meta tags, looks their relationship with the contents, indexes you website and assigns a rank to your site according to the algorithm it follows. You should understand that by submitting your site to a search engine does not mean that you will start getting high traffics just after its submission. This simply means that now the search engine knows about your site and its pages and would place you in its (Search Engine Result Pages) according to your rank in its index.

Google Submission

http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl.
They ask you to submit your top level page for submission. Google updates its index normally from 2 weeks-once a month.

Yahoo Submission

http://submit.search.yahoo.com/.
They have two options free and paid. Free listing takes about 30 to 45 days. However paid listing assures a quick listing of your site.

MSN Submission

http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx.
If you have good inbound links, your site will be picked for listing in MSN even if you don't submit your site to them.

Before submitting your site review your site thoroughly and make sure that your site has no broken or dead links. Write a suitable description of your site to put into the description field of submission form.

No doubt, submitting your site to major search engines and good rank directories help increasing the traffic and that's our goal!!

Do you know that you're site could be banned by Google!

You've seen changes in your ranking. What it could be you're asking yourself?

There several reasons. I'll name a few:

1- Your site banned for over submitting
2- They consider your spamming
3- Your buying or selling link in order to rank higher
4- Have hundreds of websites with the same content

Google has a cool toolbar that you could install in your computer, you may go here and follow the steps to install it onto your computer: http://toolbar.google.com It will save you time in searching the web, searching within a website, checking Google's Page rank of a particular web page.

The easiest way to verify whether your site is banned is to go to Google's website at http://www.google.com and give the search query "+www.yoursite.+com" (with the quotes). See whether any pages from your site are displayed in the search results. If there are some pages from your site, then you can rest it has not been banned. If there are no pages from your site in the results, and you are sure that your pages were listed earlier, then your site is probably banned.

Check it out..let's hope it's not.

You Need to Market Yourself Not The Company

I had talked a bit about this subject before. But recently on Facebook where I market my blog. They sent me an email if I could talk a bit more about this subject that he was interested in hearing some more.

Per your request here it is:

When visiting different website or blogs without naming anyone in particular. They simply sell the company as click here to JOIN with a sales pitch from top to bottom of the site. I'm not saying is incorrect but emphasized it in every paragraph doesn't look good. There just Selling the company. What do you read over and over again "my company", "My Products", "we are the best" Join my team" you see it there just selling a product. In most cases there just in the company to recruit or sell a product. If you get to join a sponsor that does this you will get NO RESULTS.

In the other hand you need to market your self and a simple way of doingthis is to become a expert of a particular topic. Just to name one -Blogs:

It's take time but it's very simple to achieve you can find information in your library or Internet. Just educate yourself, what is your passion and having that knowledge become an expert on the subject you can provide valuable information to your customers or prospects who visit your page. The key is helping others that contribute that will see you like a leader. Well there are different methods that you could use to market yourself. I'll talk about the other ways in another topic.
